Anne saw the pediatrician this morning. Good news! She weighs 6 pounds, 9 ounces and is 19 inches long. She's more than doubled her birth weight and grown nearly 4 inches longer.
She also had two vaccine shots and cried harder than we have seen her cry so far, which was not easy for Mommy or Daddy, either!

One month old
Well, Anne is almost TWO months old. But before she reached that milestone, we needed a photo session with her wearing her one-month onesie, courtesy of her friends Malia and Alexa.
We think Anne weighs more than five and a half pounds now; she was five pounds, four and a half ounces at the doctor on Tuesday, and she's gaining more than an ounce a day. She eats nearly two ounces at every feeding ... and she protests loudly when we take too long to warm the bottle and plunk it into her mouth.

The good news first: Big, big girl!
Anne weighs 5 pounds, 4.5 ounces as of this morning's visit to her pediatrician (whom we like more and more with each visit). The somewhat bad news is that we had to see the pediatrician -- Anne's reflux has worsened, and she's going to be taking two medicines for it instead of one.
But Mom knows another family whose preemie takes the same two medicines for reflux -- a very common problem among preemies -- and does extremely well. So this is actually a promising development!
Here is Anne on her play mat after playing yesterday. Playing is hard work!

Good news from the pediatrician
Anne weighed in at 4 pounds, 14 ounces today when she visited the pediatrician. She gained more than 9 ounces since her first visit last week! She's doing so well, she won't go back for three more weeks. Who knows how much weight she'll have gained by then?
We're hanging in there. Dad is back at work this week. Mom's still got some blood pressure and thyroid medication issues but is working with doctors to get better. We're grateful to Grandma Gloria and Grandpa Tom for late-night feedings, endless holding and dinners now and in the freezer for later.
