Anne is now three months old, AND she has tripled her birth weight. Tonight she weighed in at 9 pounds, 6.3 ounces (Mom rented a highly accurate scale because she worried about whether Anne was eating enough, especially with her recent switch in formula).
Here she is sleeping in her crib for the very first time. It was only a nap, and it lasted only a few minutes. But she woke up smiling, so it's a good sign of things to come.

Granddad time
Anne had some quality time with Grandpa Tom over the past week. He took her to do his favorite thing -- seeing art. We went to see the wonderful Norman Rockwell exhibit at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and we went to see a photography show and (very important) eat lunch and gelato at the National Gallery.
He also took care of Mom and Dad, cooking them a steak dinner and cooking Mom pancakes every morning. He was a whiz on KP duty. And he was very good at feeding Anne, who got very fussy on her old formula and didn't like the taste of her new formula. We were sad to see him go!
It's hard to have Anne's grandparents all living so far away. But the Grandparents' Suite is always ready and waiting for them ...

Avery and Ellie visit Anne
Anne hosted a girls' lunch on Thursday. Ellie, in the white onesie with flowers, is a month younger but was full-term. Avery, in red and white, is two weeks older; Avery is a preemie who was in the NICU during Anne's first week there.

First date
Fireworks!
OK, she didn't really see fireworks. But she DID go to her first party on July Fourth. Mom and Dad forgot to take the camera to Marci's house. But we assure you, Anne thoroughly enjoyed herself. She was wide-eyed throughout much of the party; she stayed awake for so long that evening, she slept for more than five hours that night. Here's the outfit she wore ...

A Great Great day
Anne was in for a special treat today: She met her great-great aunt, Mary Ellen Hubbard. Both enjoyed meeting each other, and Mom and Dad thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Aunt Mary Ellen is the sister of Dad's grandfather, Marty Hubbard, whom we lost in 2008. How lucky that she was able to visit!
We all went to Mom and Dad's favorite restaurant, La Loma, where Anne did well and had a nice nap, most of it on Mom's lap. And she wore another big-girl outfit; yesterday's was from Grandma Gloria, and today's was from Grandma Sheri. Anne's grandmas keep her well-dressed.

Our first ladies' lunch
The doctor said it's time to explore the outside world a bit more, so Mom and Anne headed out today for a long-awaited lunch (and a long-awaited sangria) with Marci. Anne had lunch, too! on the way home, Mom discovered her right arm is long enough to reach back in the car, find Mr. Binky and stick him into Anne's mouth while she is howling.
Also, look at Anne's big girl clothes! She wore her first newborn-size outfit today. Notice her matching flower-bottom bloomers. Daddy took one look at her when he came home and told her she was Dressy Bessie.
